‘hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature’ (Albert Austin)
We aim to empower young people and community groups to grow fruit and vegetables in school allotments and community gardens, fostering teamwork, resilience, and mental wellbeing through nurture and curiosity. In the past twelve months, Space to Grow has worked with Wheelers Lane Primary, Yardley Wood Community Primary, St Laurence Primary, Anglesey Primary, The Oaks Primary, Oak Cottage Primary and, in partnership with Our Scene CIC, with Allens Croft Primary.
What we do

We run school gardens, after-school clubs, and community plots, teaching horticultural skills and building confidence. At the heart of what we do is acceptance, inclusion and accessibility for all. Being outside, connecting with the natural world should be available for everyone.

Our mentors support teachers and young people, integrating wellbeing activities with practical horticulture, curriculum-linked activities, and hands-on project work.
In 2026, we are growing our team. More details of our new gardeners and mentors to follow!
